
Part-Time Visitor Center Guide
Position Details
Rock Point is a 130-acre wild landscape in the heart of Burlington, offering trails, shoreline access, outdoor learning opportunities, and community programs. In 2025 we are opening the Rock Point Center for Nature and Spirituality, a new trailside visitor center that invites people to connect with the land through interpretation, reflection, and exploration.
Position Overview
We are seeking a friendly, reliable Visitor Guide to staff the Rock Point Center on Saturdays. The Visitor Guide will be a welcoming presence for guests, helping them learn about Rock Point’s natural and cultural history, supporting simple activities, and helping maintain an inviting community space.
The position also plays a role behind the scenes—assisting staff in the creation of simple visitor activities, displays, or interpretive elements that help people engage with Rock Point’s ecology, geology, and ongoing programs.
Primary Responsibilities

Staff the Rock Point Center every Saturday from 10 a.m.–2 p.m.

Welcome visitors and share trail information, natural history insights, and program updates.

Support simple drop-in activities (e.g., tree and wildlife track ID, art prompts).

Help develop and set up small-scale activities, displays, or interpretive materials for visitors.

Keep the Center clean, organized, and inviting.

Collect informal visitor feedback and share observations with staff.

Optional: Assist with additional projects during the week based on interest and availability.

Compensation
