About Rock Point Camp

Life at Rock Point Camp

  • Our CAMP GOALS are Care for Creation; Care for Neighbor; Care for Self; Have Fun!

  • Each week new campers are greeted by enthusiastic, well trained camp counselors and volunteer leaders who help to plan programs geared especially to each camper age group. Campers can help plan and lead activities, too.

  • Campers are invited to belong to a caring, cooperative community, be a friend and make new  friends; explore the wilds of 130 acres on the shores of Lake Champlain; grow in confidence, independence and interdependence; try new activities and learn new skills; and experience the sacredness of creation where outdoor adventure meets spiritual exploration.

Typical Camp Activities

  • Canoe to Burlington Waterfront and eat creemees!

  • Sunset hikes and evening circle at The Point

  • Daily swimming and water play

  • Campfires, singing, S'mores

  • Archery

  • Crazy games

  • Outdoor living skills

  • Cabin time

  • An evening of Episco Disco

Typical Camp Day

Rock Point Camp is held at the Bishop Booth Conference Center in Burlington, Vermont on the shore of Lake Champlain. Each morning begins with free play while everyone arrives. The community gathers for our morning circle where we give thanks for the day, sing a song, read a story or poem and talk about the theme for the day. Morning program is introduced which includes nature and spiritual exploration and outdoor adventure.

Campers at Rock Point have a full schedule of activities each day. There are times of free play, choice activity time and swimming every day. Afternoon choice periods include recreational activities such as swimming, paddle boarding, canoeing, arts and crafts, fire building, drama, journaling, edible plants, gardening, hiking, sports and games...to name a few!

A healthy and camper friendly lunch is served in Butterfield dining hall. All snacks are provided. Due to food allergies, we ask that lunches or snacks not be brought from home. Please contact the director if your child has special food needs.

All campers, counselors and volunteers participate in Capers which include recycling, setting tables, etc.

Two daily community circles offer an opportunity to begin and end each day with gratitude and personal intention.
