Rock Point Center

Welcome to Rock Point Center

Nestled by the wooded shores of Lake Champlain in Vermont, Rock Point Center is your destination for meetings, conferences, weddings, and lake-front lodging. Visitors at Rock Point Center seem to uniformly share an appreciation for the beauty of the Rock Point site, and a tranquility that fosters reflection and the capacity to slow down the pace and truly listen to others.

A broad sampling of our visiting organizations include: spiritual retreats and meetings of faith communities; personal growth groups; many entities within our local colleges and universities; secondary and primary schools; human service agencies; the State of Vermont; and a handful of profit sector organizations.

Rock Point Center is also the host of Rock Point Camp, as well as many family reunions, weddings, and memorial services. And why rush home when the Rock Point trails beckon to be explored and views of Lake Champlain savored on our 130+ acre oasis?

Temporary Meeting Space Changes due to COVID -19

Due to restrictions on lodging and event spaces in Vermont, meeting spaces at Rock Point are limited.  The highest number of people we can host in our dining room with safe social distancing is 20.  Groups may rent our outdoor patio for an even safer experience, for up to 25 people.

Note that patio rentals are weather dependent. If your event is rained out you will have the option to either rent an indoor space at an additional cost (maximum = 20 people) or reschedule your gathering to another date at no cost to you. If neither of those is possible, you will be responsible for the 25% nonrefundable deposit but no additional charges will be incurred.

Cost to rent the outdoor patio for one full day: $300 / $225 non-profit rate

To book the outdoor patio, submit a request here.

To discuss your event needs or questions, please contact Carrie Williams Howe.

Meeting Spaces

Rock Point Center offers retreat-like meeting spaces for groups large and small. Of our six designated meeting rooms, four feature views of Lake Champlain. All meeting spaces come with WiFi access, and meeting groups are always welcome to access our outdoor areas and trails.

Meeting Rooms

The Rock Point Center offers a total of six meeting rooms. The Bishop Booth dining room is the largest space and can fit up to 60 people at round tables or 80 people audience-style. Our Swenson Room offers space for up to 45 people, and we have three small lounges that serve as break-out rooms.

Please download the Conference & Event Guide for detailed room descriptions, set up options, and locations.

Our rooms are rented out either as individual room reservations or as part of a package deal (such as full building or full facility use).  We offer 25% off of our regular rates for Nonprofits.  In addition, discounts are offered on meeting space for those who also book overnight rooms.  Contact us for a complete proposal.

Meals & Catering

Catering may be arranged for conferences and lodging groups. We partner with Sugarsnap, a local farm-to-table caterer that specializes in wedding, business meetings, and other events. Sugarsnap runs our kitchen and works directly with clients to set up menus for everything from business meetings to retreats and weddings.

Guest accommodations at Rock Point Center are best described as "hostel style."  Rooms are tastefully appointed and clean with shared bathrooms, common space, and access to a basic kitchen. Some of our rooms have gorgeous views of Lake Champlain, while others have serene wooded views.

Guest Rooms & Rates

We offer 17 guest rooms designed to sleep up to 60 individuals and groups; rooms can accommodate anywhere from two to eight people through a combination of twin beds and bunks. Most rooms are located in Van Dyck Hall, but a small group of rooms is also available above the main dining room in Butterfield.

Weddings at Rock Point

The Rock Point Center's lake-front location is perfect for the couple who desires a wedding or civil union that embraces natural beauty. Couples who host here are often looking for an alternative to the expensive wedding circuit, but are still able to create memories that last a lifetime.

Available Spaces

In addition to the meeting rooms that are available to all groups, weddings and other ceremonies can take advantage of Rock Point's natural surroundings, including:

  • The Outdoor Chapel

  • The Bishop Booth Dining Room Patio

  • The Lakefront (especially for beautiful photos!)

Please download the Conference & Event Guide for detailed room descriptions and set up options.

Couples can choose to use Sugarsnap, our designated catering partner to create a delicious, customized menu. Couples may also choose to bring in their own food.  Limited access to our commercial kitchen is available (for refrigeration or dish-washing) with the support of our site manager for a small additional fee.

Event Rentals

While the Rock Point Center can provide a limited number of chairs, plates, and other event supplies, we often encourage couples to partner with Vermont Tent Company for things like place settings, chairs, linens, and outdoor tents.
