Rock Point serves as the central home for the Episcopal Dioceses of Vermont and is home to the diocesan offices.

The Diocese of Vermont includes 46 congregations and more than 5,000 Episcopalians across the Green Mountain state. Led by Bishop Shannon MacVean-Brown, we draw our inspiration from the story of the apostle Peter, who stepped out of his boat and followed Jesus into the midst of a storm. Together we are putting our trust in God and finding new ways to serve, worship, and care for creation.

Rock Point has a several-hundred-year history of farming, logging and gardening and today is no exception. Although there are personal and pocket gardens located throughout the property, the most noticeable are the series of specific gardens that appear as one drives down the entrance road between the Rock Point School and the Diocesan Office Building.  Learn more about our garden partners here.

CRAG-VT a not-for-profit (501(c)(3)) organization dedicated to preserving access and conservation of Vermont’s climbing resources.  CRAG-VT built a relationship with the Episcopal Diocese of Vermont at Rock Point to open this cliff to climbing in 2017. Ongoing access is contingent on the climbing community’s adherence to the access agreement, outlined in the Access Beta & Closures. CRAG-VT pays an annual donation to the diocese in support of their stewardship of the property and their willingness to collaborate with climbers.
