Our trails are free and open to the public. There is no charge to enter Rock Point - We invite you to consider a voluntary contribution to help maintain Rock Point: Donate to Rock Point.
An unspoiled wilderness within the City of Burlington, Rock Point is one of the most significant rare plant sites in Vermont. It contains rare and fragile plant species, upland wetland and cliff habitats for wildlife, and one of the most visible exposure of a dolomite thrust fault in North America. It is critically important that all visitors serve as responsible stewards of this land. We welcome community members and ask you to respect the guidelines below, which will keep this unique natural area protected for others to enjoy.
Access Agreement: By accessing the land at Rock Point Commons, I certify that I am at least 18 years old and agree to abide by Rock Point's conditions. I understand that entering the premises is at my own risk, and I am responsible for ensuring compliance with the rules and being a responsible steward of the property. Rock Point Commons is committed to protecting and respecting your privacy. We may use the provided information to periodically contact you regarding our mission and other services through Rock Point News.

Groups of more than 10 persons are requested to contact Rock Point Commons in advance of your arrival.
PARKING: No Public Parking at this time. Please park off-site and walk to the trails unless you have an official Rock Point Parking pass or a Displayed Disabled Parking Pass. We suggest parking at the following locations: Leddy Beach, Institute Road, North Beach. Handicap Parking: To access, please drive down Rock Point Road and turn left after bridge-crossing. Continue driving down the path until you see signs for handicap parking.
HOURS: Dawn to dusk; no night-time hiking.DOGS ALL dogs must be properly leashed and with you at all times. This helps to protect the endangered species and vulnerable soil on our property, and also shows respect for other visitors who may not feel comfortable with dogs approaching them. Please clean up and dispose of waste.
LEAVE NO TRACE: Carry out what you carry in (no glass).
PRIVATE PROPERTY: Rock Point's trails are located on land that is privately owned by the Episcopal Diocese of Vermont; please respect that some buildings and areas of the property are marked PRIVATE and are not open to the public.
STAY ON TRAILS: To protect endangered wildlife and keep trails maintained, stick to marked paths; no camping, boat launching, or hammocks.
RESPECT SIGNS & STAFF INSTRUCTIONS: Staff and volunteers may remind you of the property rules or ask you to respect specific instructions. Please adhere to these guidelines.
RESTRICTIONS
NO SWIMMING: Rock Point beaches and waterfront are not open for public swimming.
NO BICYCLES: Rock point is home to many rare plants and thin soil that erodes easily (the Burlington Bike Path can be accessed from our property but bikes must be left at kiosk)
NO PICKING, FORAGING, FEEDING, HUNTING: Please leave plants and wildlife alone.
NO DRUGS OR ALCOHOL, NO SMOKING
NO NUDITY
NO CAMPFIRES or CAMPING
NO FIREWORKS
ROCK CLIMBING is limited to those who have registered with CRAG. To access, please drive down Rock Point Road and turn left after bridge- crossing. Continuing driving down the path until you see signs for handicap parking.
