October Events at Rock Point School!

By Molly Huddle Coffey

Rock Point School is hosting two public events in October! The first is “Creating LGBTQ+ Inclusive Community Environments” on October 17th from 6:15 - 8:15 p.m. in the Rock Point School Library. This interactive workshop is designed to help families and community members increase their fluency with LGBTQ+ inclusive concepts, terminology, and practices. The workshop will be hosted by Mara Iverson, the Director of Education at Outright Vermont. On October 19th, Rock Point School will host the annual Ooky Spooky 5k Race to benefit COTS. This spooktacular 5k run through the beautiful Rock Point campus along Lake Champlain is a great way to get into the Halloween spirit. Runners are encouraged to wear their favorite costumes and compete for the “best costume” prize, in addition to racing for the best time! Runners and walkers of all ages are welcome to participate. The race starts at 9 a.m. in front of the school. For more information and to register, visit https://www.rockpointschool.org/news-events/ooky-spooky-5k-benefit-race-oct.-19
